*TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE* Seeking help is not easy! But you’ve already taken the first step right here. My passion is to help individuals process the things that are causing them pain, distress, sadness, and/or anxiety. To help you battle those feelings of being stuck, lost or empty. To address the negative thoughts/feelings that are not allowing you to live the life you want and deserve. To help you find or reconnect with the things in life that bring you true happiness. You don’t have to do it alone! Some of us just need a little extra help; someone to talk to, someone to vent to, someone that listens without judgement.
A counselor will help you clearly identify the barriers standing between you and change. You can push the gas pedal on a broken car as much as you want, but until you attune to the mechanics of what’s gone awry, the car will not be moving forward.
Barriers might be pragmatic (“I can’t leave my job because I need the money”), based on conflicted values (“I don’t want to lie anymore, but I can’t hurt her feelings”), emotion-driven (“Even the idea is overwhelming”), or derived from ingrained negative beliefs about yourself, others, or your environment.
Sometimes barriers are external, like in your over-demanding workplace or within a conflicted marriage or family. In counseling, you will create tailor-made solutions for understanding and overcoming the barriers between you and your goals.

This is a review for counseling & mental health in San Francisco, CA:
“May is such a game changer! I could not recommend working with her more. She really helped me unlock the root of some of my blocks and be able to move forward in a different way. While May lets you drive the direction of your session after the initial groundwork is laid and she clearly understands your goals and where you are coming from, her thoughtful questions and nurturing approach offers so much guidance and insight along the way. I have spent a lot of time going to different types of therapy and different therapists and finally committing to going to May has offered so many breakthroughs and given me the tools to move forward on my own for the first time in a long time.”

Depression is a mental health disorder that affects mood, including how you feel, think, and behave. Everyone feels sad sometimes, but when it starts to affect your ability to perform daily tasks and your ability to enjoy things that typically bring you happiness, you may be suffering from depression. The symptoms of depression vary from person to person, but often include feeling miserable without a clear reason why, anxiety, agitation, insomnia or sleeping too much, hopelessness, changes in eating, and/or foggy thinking. Depression may also cause recurrent thoughts of death or suicide (or even a wish that it would all ‘stop’ in an abstract sense). If you think you might be suffering from depression, a qualified mental health therapist can help. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s depression experts today!

About Vancouver
Vancouver is the seat of Clark County, Washington. It is situated on the Columbia River and has a land area of 52 square miles. The city is named after British explorer Captain George Vancouver. It was founded in 1825 and incorporated in 1857.
An estimated 185,000 people live in Vancouver. The ethnic composition of the population is 79% white, 12% Hispanic, 5% Asian, and 3% black. Over 10% of Vancouver residents are military veterans, and 14% of residents have a disability.
The median household income is $52,000. The city’s unemployment rate is roughly 5%. Around 95% of private sector businesses in Vancouver are considered small businesses (50 workers or less). The largest industries are health care, social assistance, and educational services.
Mental Health in Vancouver
The number of psychiatric beds in Clark County are not matching the community’s needs. Plans are in place to build a Crisis Triage Center to assist residents with mental health and addiction concerns. While the project has received $3 million in funding so far, this is less than a quarter of the required budget.
Officials claim the crisis triage center could save the county money long-term. The Sheriff’s Office estimates that if nonviolent inmates with mental health concerns were diverted to a crisis center, the county could save $712,000 a year. PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center says a crisis center would save the hospital $1.4 million a year in emergency room costs.
