A few months ago, I stopped drinking coffee. It’s not that I don’t love the morning ritual, it’s that my baseline anxiety is so high I can essentially run on pure adrenaline from the moment I wake up until around 1 a.m., when I will then drift in and out of consciousness mentally reviewing my to-do list for the next day. Stress is my modus operandi — I could fuel a train with the stuff.
Between the deadlines, the crowded subways, and a propensity to get lost in the throes of WebMD hypochondria, I’m willing to try just about anything to curb it. Acupuncture? Sign me up. Yoga? I’m there. A sugar scrub? Get me a bucket. So the Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint Sugar Scrub was first on my to-try list after a particularly stressful day (and a glass or two of wine, but that’s neither here nor there). I really, really wanted it to work, so I went all in. I dimmed the lights, lit candles — whatever I could do to help the process.
When you crack open the jar, the first thing that hits you is the fragrance, and here’s the thing: I love the smell of eucalyptus, and I love the smell of spearmint. Separately. Together, however, they’re a bit like that body-spray-slash-deodorant your high school boyfriend wore. But I’m a firm believer in the power of essential oils, so if the combo of the two scents is going to shave off even 10 percent of my anxiety I will inhale it until I pass out from the fumes or, God willing, drift into deep relaxation. In my defense, the instructions do say to “Breathe deeply for best results.”
The scrub felt great. Every rough patch on my body — knees, elbows — was smoothed by the coarse sugar. It left a bit of an oily film on my body (and all over my tub, so if you live alone and don’t have Life Alert make sure you have something to grab onto when you climb out of the shower), but the oil was absorbed within half an hour and left my skin feeling silky and hydrated — no different from applying body oil after bathing. The smell definitely lingered for a few hours after my shower, but it was actually kind of relaxing while I was drifting off to sleep. Was I able to totally de-stress and find nirvana? No. But I definitely had a much better sense of well-being. My muscles were relaxed and I was able to close my eyes and breathe, if only for a minute or two.

Bath & Body Works, Aromatherapy, Moisturizing Body Cream, Stress Relief Eucalyptus & Spearmint
Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Moisturizing Body Creams | $15.50 each
The Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Moisturizing Body Creams line is a line of scent-forward products that claim to address the mind-body issue. These fragrant creams say that they will help with different moods. I was sent three to sample. The three body creams promise that they are “rich, non-greasy” and that they “nourish skin with protective 24-hour moisture, conditioning Vitamin E and shea butter.” An aromatherapy blend of essential oils are said to soothe body, mind, and mood.
Stress Relief Body Cream Eucalyptus & Spearmint: This cream contains Eucalyptus Essential Oil, which is said to clear the mind and Spearmint Essential Oil, which claims to soothe and uplift.
This cream contains Eucalyptus Essential Oil, which is said to clear the mind and Spearmint Essential Oil, which claims to soothe and uplift.
Sleep Body Cream Lavender Essential Oil & Vanilla: This cream contains Lavender Essential Oil & Vanilla Absolute, which are said to help calm feelings of stress to promote better sleep.
Stress Relief Body Cream Eucalyptus & Tea: This cream contains Eucalyptus Oil, which claims to clear the mind, and Tea Extract, which claims to calm feelings of uncertainty.
I used all three creams at different points throughout the day and evening. All are excellent products – as promised, rich but not greasy, and delightfully fragrant. But, I didn’t find the mood-altering claims to be substantiated. The vanilla cream was lovely but had no impact on my sleep. The Tea Extract did nothing to calm feelings of uncertainty, a difficult claim to support in any case. The bottom line is that these fragrant creams are excellent products if you leave all the woo-woo talk behind.
Bath & Body Works Stress Relief Sugar Scrub | $16.50
This product claims to be non-greasy and gently exfoliating. The scrub contains nourishing oils, including jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, safflower seed oil, mineral oil, and almond oil.
I used this in the shower. The scent was wonderfully invigorating and I liked the brisk, exfoliating quality. However, it is a bit on the greasy side (it has five different oils in it, after all). Also, it tends to separate so it needs to be mixed before applying. Overall, a good, straight forward scrub at a good price point.

Hi IMBBians,
Today, I will be reviewing Bath & Body Works Foaming Sugar Scrub. I have been using this scrub for past few years and I believe now that I can give my honest opinion to you all. In case, you have been eyeing on these since quite a time and doesn’t know if you should purchase or not, then keep on reading.
Price and Quantity:
$16.50 for 8 oz / 226 g
Product Description:
Reveal your most natural beauty! Foaming Sugar Scrub soothes skin with a luxurious, rich lather, while naturally exfoliating sugar crystals gently reveal your radiance. With Vitamin E and Sunflower Oil, this gentle formula nourishes and protects skin, leaving it incredibly soft and smooth. A petal-perfect blend of white gardenia, jasmine petals & magnolia blossom.
Key notes: White Gardenia, Jasmine Petals, Magnolia Blossom, Pink Nectarine, Cotton Musk.
Packaging:
It comes in a transparent fat tube with white flip top cap on it. All details are mentioned at the back and on front, there is very pretty floral design with variant name “Hello Beautiful”. BBW keeps its tubes transparent because, the actual product colours are so pretty. They always look pleasing to eyes. Tube by itself is of good quality plastic and can be easily carried around. This variant is light blue in colour and looks absolutely stunning sitting on my bathroom shelf.
My Experience with Bath & Body Works Hello Beautiful Foaming Sugar Scrub:
I have used many variants of this BBW sugar scrub and I absolutely love using it. It has huge sugar granules which help in exfoliating my skin without dissolving in water in few seconds. Best part about these scrubs is that they are foam based and not oil based. So, it cleanse and exfoliate at the same time. I have used sugar scrub from Soap and Glory but, those are oil and sugar based. So, I have to clean all the oil with a mild shower gel after using them. But, BBW ones work both ways plus it has vitamin E and jojoba oil as well, so they are nourishing too.
Fragrance wise, they are inspired by the range or variant which includes shower gel, foaming scrub, body lotion, body cream, and fragrance mists. This one comes with floral notes which fades to light musky scent. It does not stay on the body for very long.
Overall, I am in love with these scrubs and would definitely repurchase them.
Pros of Bath & Body Works Hello Beautiful Foaming Sugar Scrub:
- Nice fragrance.
- Works well on skin.
- Sugar granules does not dissolve.
Cons of Bath & Body Works Hello Beautiful Foaming Sugar Scrub:
- None.
IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
