All applicants must have evidence of some relevant pre-course experience in a field related to the caring professions.
Applicants should normally have at least a second class honours degree in the cognate subjects of fine art, art therapy, humanities, psychology, social sciences or science. Professionals including Teachers, Social Workers, Nurses and others working in the caring professions will also be considered.

The MA Art Psychotherapy Practice is the pre-registration course required for practice as an Art Psychotherapist or an Art Therapist in the UK.
You can choose between studying two years full-time or three years part-time.
The course is delivered in partnership between Leeds Beckett University and Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust.
It uses the combined experience of higher education and NHS services. Students benefit from the experience available to them in both organisations and their sense of what it means to combine theory with practice.
The programme continues to build upon the robust practice-based network of placements established over its many years of existence.

- Produce therapists of a high quality who are able to play a leading role in the development of services.
